2013 marks the 10th anniversary of the escalation of violence in Darfur. To honor the victims and stand with the survivors, we are tag-team fasting for 100 days, starting on April 6th and ending July 14, 2013.
We said we were supporting the campaign and that we were going to fast for Darfur. Every member of the Sama Team (from the Sama Gazette and the MagkaSama Project) accepted to fast and today is the first day. Everyday until June 28, someone from the team will fast water-only or refugee rations (1,000 calories per day).
We mentioned this fast in our Newsletter from yesterday, and many of you contacted us and said they were also ready to fast for Darfur. You can still sign up on this page, and we will tweet @MagkaSama how it goes.
