iACT is launching We Act Together, a global campaign to shed light on the global refugee crisis and inspire action towards peace. In their recent Newsletter, we can read more details about their campaign, and the organization:
In 2005, iACT’s Co-founder and Executive Director Gabriel Stauring traveled for the first time to Darfuri refugee camps on the Chad-Sudan border to listen to the stories of and connect with the survivors of the Darfur genocide. Since then, iACT has grown into an international organization with a mission to provide humanitarian action to aid, empower, and extend hope to those affected by mass atrocities.
Each of the over 65 million people displaced around the world is an individual with a personal story. iACT places each of these individuals at the heart of our humanitarian action. Our programs are created with refugees, not just for refugees.
We support the Los Angeles-based international organization and their campaign, we appreciate what they do and how they work: Our collective action can change the way the world responds to mass atrocities. Together, we can break the cycle of violence endemic to refugee communities.
