The Haiti Advocacy Working Group (HAWG) tweeted regarding the Temporary Protected Status (TPS), the legal status which protects refugees whose home countries have suffered natural disaster or war from deportation.
The Trump Administration suggested that it would be up to Congress to ultimately decide the fate of those now protected by the program. The Star reported that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security told 58 000 Haitians in late May that they should prepare to return home when their TPS expires in January, 2018.

A few days ago the Embassy of Haiti in Washington D.C. announced the launch of a hotline to provide guidance to Haitian TPS recipients. More info here.
The fate of thousands of Haitians and other nationals who support their families home is at stake and the organization. This will also concern the 200 000 Salvadoran TPS recipients, whose status is up for renewal in March 2018.
You can tell your Congressional Representative to sign onto the letter to the Administration asking them to #SaveTPS on this page.
