The MagkaSama Project has been advocating for action on environmental issues for more than a decade. In 2015, we covered the COP21 by taking action and joining demonstrations in Paris. You can read more about what we did in this news: COP21 in Paris: Get mobilized for climate!
People worldwide mobilized this weekend under the banner of #RiseforClimate, building up to a mass mobilization planned for hundreds of cities across the globe on Saturday, ahead of the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco, California (Sept.12 – Sept.14). From Vancouver to Brussels, San Francisco, Copenhagen and Bangkok; tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets to demand government action on climate change.
On Saturday, Members of the MagkaSama Project, friends and supporters, joined the Paris demonstration with the aim to draw the public’s attention to climate change and new energy sources. Hundreds of people gathered at the City Hall / Hotel de Ville square to take part in the march for the climate.
Parents, children, organizations, activists… We met with many different people, all were very concerned by climate change and its grave consequences. We all wanted to highlight increasing climate impacts and press leaders to take action.
Below is a photo showing Audrey Pulvar, President of the Fondation pour la Nature et l’Homme (FNH), an environmental organization founded in 1990 by former Minister of Ecological and Solidary Transition, Nicolas Hulot. The event was a success but a lot still remains to be done!
