Writer, activist and creator of the website Free Saudi Liberals Raif Badawi was arrested four years ago, and yesterday was a day of action for the Saudi Arabian blogger.
Events were planned in Canada but also in Europe, in London and Oslo. There is a weekly London Protest protest outside the Saudi Embassy in London, every Friday until Raif Badawi is released. Max Dana tweeted about it in April:
Not in #London right now but if you are, join @englishpen & @miss9afi tomorrow (9-10am) at @SaudiEmbassy! #FreeRaif pic.twitter.com/H9pdcsk992

In Oslo, Amnesty Norway organized a protest outside the Saudi Embassy (Stopp piskingen av Raif Badawi!).
We have been supporting Raif Badawi and advocating for his release for a long time, last month we met with his wife Ensaf Haidar, so we decided to take action. We made signs and went to the streets to raise awareness on his situation. We were joined by some of our Members, and as we were walking in the streets of Paris, many people came to us and were curious to know more about Raif. We told them his story, some of them said they were going to sign petition for his release, some others even joined us and walked along with us for a while.
